Do I need a publicity campaign for my website?

Yes. However there is a difference between a publicity campaign being desired, or being a necessity. The value of your website will be put into question, but what is the purpose of your website?

With all the possibilities available on the web, and the multitude of products available for promoting your website or key words, it's easy to get lost. In order to evaluate the need of a web publicity campaign, whether it be through buying key words or banners on high-traffic websites, first you must figure out what purpose your website will serve.

Are you trying to reach new clientele? In this case, the task will probably be somewhat difficult and must be meticulously analyzed. Starting a campaign on Google for targeting new clientele without a well-defined goal is like throwing a hook into the ocean without bait. You have to find your niche in order to properly target your clientele and where to position your advertisements or which key words to buy.

If the goal of your site is to inform your existing clientele and to sell your products or services by way of referrals, a campaign is probably not a necessity. All you have to do is mention your website in your e-mail signature, and on your business cards and flyers. While inviting your clients to visit your site, suggest that they subscribe to your newsletter and explain what it will contain. Also, when visiting clients, ask their permission to subscribe them to your newsletter and promote your website in this manner!

Do I need a website with or without a database?

With all the Web solutions out there, it can be difficult to make a choice on the type of website that will suit your needs.

You have to consider several aspects in order to make the right decision.

First, you must establish the nature of the site. If you are planning to create a simple page just to advertise your business, without any option of contact for your clientele, a conventional static HTML page is perhaps the right solution.

Although, don’t forget to consider the long-term needs. If you intend to provide different tools to your clientele, you must analyze the layout of your site and future additions to it.

Second, keep in mind that a website with a database is not necessarily more expensive than one without. This could help you save time and money if the choice you make from the beginning allows you to make upgrades, rather than starting from scratch.

Also consider the updates. A website with a database allows the use of a template, so if you decide to change the look, the programming time and effort will be much less for a website with a database. Text, images, and other aspects might not have to be modified. Only the template will have to change – and this gives additional latitude for keeping your site up to date.

Finally, a website with a database will allow you the option to make certain modifications yourself, without a lot of programming knowledge or having to purchase costly software. And if you don’t want to handle modifications, keep in mind that the time for an outside company to update your website would be considerably lower.

If you are still unsure whether you want a website with a database or without, please consult us to know more and make an informed decision!
